About

Respect My Perspective started as a catchphrase but is slowly evolving into a movement.  We all come from different walks of life.  We all have different backgrounds.  Sometimes, we allow our differences to not only define us (in the most limited sense) but we also allow them to become reasons to remain separate, intolerant, and worse:  indifferent.  Respect My Perspective provides an opportunity for visitors to come together on issues that affect us all and encourages honest discussions about them.

As moderator, I will provide topics that I may be personally interested in.  Not everything will be ripped from the headlines.  For instance, I have my own PERSPECTIVE as to whether or not O.J. could have expected a fair trial for the Las Vegas debacle given the lingering hostility from his aquittal of double murder charges.   The topic itself is sure to evoke a wide range of emotions and opinions.  However, I hope to do more than just “stir the pot”.  My own PERSPECTIVE is unique to my personal life experiences.  I am curious to know what other peoples’ views are on this and many other subjects.  How many of you out there are attorneys?  What’s YOUR PERSPECTIVE?  How about the PERSPECTIVE of those of you who are victims of domestic violence?  How can we learn from each other?  Are our differences of opinion enough to keep us from sitting next to each other?  Can we really “agree to disagree”?

Respect My Perspective will also be an opportunity for visitors to share their unique viewpoints via different mediums.  Photographers, poets, authors, songwriters, are all welcome to submit their work for public consumption.  But please do not feel like your contribution must come in the form of artistic expression.  If you have something to say,  please feel free to add to the discussion.  Respect My Perspective will also be a place to have fun.  Not every topic will be “heavy”.  There will be reviews and commentary on movies, books, music, etc.

So today, this site is in its infancy.  It is growing.  What it will become depends upon what visitors bring to the table.  Feedback is welcome.  Opinion is appreciated.  As long as we can respect each other’s viewpoint, all are welcome.  I expect to be challenged, inspired, and informed.  I hope you are as well.
